He married Mona Marie Forney May 8, 1938 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. She was born Mar. 27, 1919 in Tabor, Fremont Co., Iowa, daughter of James Harvey Forney and Muriel Julia Weatherhead, and died Dec. 14, 2010 in Independence, Jackson Co., Missouri.
