Marie Boehmer, 95, of Dubuque, formerly of Sugar Creek, died Monday evening, Jan. 25, 2010, at the Dubuque Nursing & Rehab Center, Dubuque.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Mount St. Francis Chapel, Dubuque, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque. The Lahey Funeral & Cremation Service, Maquoketa, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on Oct. 1, 1914, in Sugar Creek, Iowa, daughter of Lewis and Anne (Teshak) Boehmer. She entered the convent in 1937 and was known as Sister Salvador when in the convent.
She worked at Holy Rosary School in La Motte as a cook for several years.
Surviving are a sister, Dolores Banowetz, of Maquoketa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and two sisters, one in infancy and Rita, on July 17, 2009.
