His obituary gives the birth year as 1841. He married Frances Adelaide Hazelton Sept. 14, 1869 at Emporium, Cameron Co., Pennsylvania. He enlisted as a Private in Co. F, 5th Pennsylvania Cavalry Regiment Aug. 19, 1861, was later transferred to Co. K, and was mustered out Aug. 7, 1865 at Richmond, Virginia. Source: History of Pennsylvania Volunteers, 1861-1865.
