He married Edna Catherine Romer Oct. 19, 1946 at Troy, Doniphan Co., Kansas. She was born May 4, 1920 in Corning, Adams Co., Iowa, daughter of August Romer and Mary Bauer,and died Jan. 4, 2012 in Hamburg, Fremont Co., Iowa.
