Martha Ellen Rogers, daughter of Hezekiah Rogers and and Catharine Swisher, was born Dec. 19, 1838 (obituary gives the date as 1839) in Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois and died Mar. 17, 1931 in Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. She married 1) Stephen Hale Silvers in Garden Grove, Decatur Co., Iowa and 2) James Austin Carr Feb. 4, 1864 at Leon, Decatur Co., Iowa.
