A, 9th Indiana Infantry Regiment on Sept. 5, 1861 and was mustered out on May 26, 1862. He also served in the 23rd Indiana Light Artillery Battery from April 30, 1863 until he was mustered out July 2, 1865 at Indianapolis, Indiana.
