He married Mary Frances Shearer Mar. 6, 1890. She was born Aug. 28, 1867 in Buchanan Twp., Page Co., Iowa, daughter of John Finley Shearer and Emeline Clarinda Jones, and died Mar. 29, 1938 (Her obituary was in the Clarinda Herald Journal April 1, 1937 so the date on the headstone may be an error.)
