Stone sits on light gray granite base. Grand Army of the Republic emblem is next to stone. From "American Civil War Soldiers" Name: William London Residence: Gosport, Iowa Enlistment Date: 9 Aug 1862 Side Served: Union State Served: Iowa Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 9 August 1862 at the age of 35. Enlisted in Company F, 40th Infantry Regiment Iowa on 29 Sep 1862. Received a disability discharge from Company F, 40th Infantry Regiment Iowa on 10 Mar 1863 at Mound City, IL."
