She married Gebhard Hunger in 1901, and died in Burlington, Iowa, shortly after the childbirth of her infant son. This infant died a few hours later, and both Jessie and her infant son were buried together in the same casket in the Green family plot where her parents, paternal grandparents, and a sibling Glen are buried.
