F, 29th Iowa Infantry Regiment Nov. 12, 1862. He was promoted to full 7th Corporal on April 30, 1863; promoted to full 5th Corporal on Nov. 1, 1864; promoted to full 3rd Corporal on Apr. 25, 1865.
