The engraving error could easily have been a phonetic mis-spelling of the surname. Subsequent research of this family bears out the "Barnes" surname spelling. ~~~~~~~ Thomas Barnes 1804 - June 11, 1889 (In his 86th year) First wife was Sarah "Sallie" Case Barnes; she is buried in Old Fairfield City cemetery.
