William Gilbert
July 12, 1834 - March 2, 1908
Almira Moore Gilbert
Wife of Wm. Gilbert
April 8, 1836 - Oct. 4, 1901
(some sources use DOB of April 9, 1836, but the engraved DOB is Apr. 8, 1836)
Charley Gilbert
Son of Wm & A. Gilbert
Nov. 5, 1862 - March 27, 1863
Old.P.139
Special note -
Although there is an inscription for the son Charley on this monument, his death and burial pre-dates the establishment of Evergreeen cemetery by just over seven years. It is likely that he was buried in Pattison cemetery, where there is also a gravestone for him near his Uncle and Aunt, Robert & Margaret Gilbert. There is no plot record of his being reburied to Evergreen cemetery, so this inscription may be in his honor, but his physical burial is probably elsewhere, perhaps still in Pattison cemetery. It is possible that he was reburied in this Gilbert family plot and such reburial not recorded, of course. There is no individual headstone in place for him on this lot as there are for all other members of this Gilbert family, so his "burial" in this plot should be considered with some caution.
