Immigrated to America in the spring of 1865 with their three children: Louise born Dec 5, 1855, Died Febuary 15, 1866, with pneumonia: twins Caroline and Fred. Minnie the fourth child was born in Iowa.
The family came to Guttenberg and stayed with friends. They built a small log house in a timber near there. For quite a few years he worked for farmers. Then bought the farm in Garnavillo Twp. The Kregel children attended school at the Ceres Church with the pastor as the teacher.
The children: Caroline married Henry Krueger, Fred married Louise Meyer, Minnie married Lewis Kamin
F.H. died Aug 1, 1899 and Charlotte died April 5, 1898, both are buried by their daughter Louise on the Borcherding Cemetery in Jefferson Twp. north of Guttenburg on Highway 52.
