Olga Mary Honz
Olga Mary Honz, daughter of Clem and Theresa (Voss) Honz was born March 27, 1897 on a farm near Buck Grove, Ia. She was baptized in St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Buck Grove and made her First Communion and was confirmed in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap. She grew to adulthood on the family farm.
When her parents moved to town (Dunlap) she left Dunlap and went to Omaha where she did housekeeping work for various families. But she returned again to care for her invalid mother and father and other relatives. She was a life long member of St. Patrick's Altar Society.
She passed away at Mercy Care Center in Omaha Monday, Feb. 8, 1982.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Joseph and three sisters, Elizabeth Stolz, Rose Schiltz and Mary Grote.
She is survived by two brothers, Urban of Rose Vista Nursing Home at Woodbine, Ia. and Clem Jr. of Lake View, Ia. Also a number of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
A Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Patrick's Church in Dunlap Thursday, Feb. 11, 1982 at 10:30 with Rev. James Freeman officiating.
Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap. Six nephews were casket bearers. They were Donald Honz, Cecil Honz and Robert Cook of Omaha, Neb., Ray Feldman of Harlan, Ia.; Leonard Brummer of Blair, Neb. and Richard Grote of Dunlap.
Fouts Funeral Home of Woodbine and Dunlap was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
