Ola Hill Gildersleeve and Margaret Mulbrook were married August 18, 1922 in Newton, Iowa.
Children:
Doris, who died on February 3, 1924, Bayonne (Birkenholtz) of Newton, Delmar Gildersleeve of Fennimore, Wisconsin and Phyllis (Smith) of Grinnell.
Ola Hill Gildersleeve attended school near the family home in Illinois and later moved to Story County, Iowa with his family.
Mr. and Mrs. Gildersleeve farmed in Poweshiek and Jasper Counties until 1962 when they moved to Grinnell to make their home. Ola worked as a plumber, carpenter and a painter while living in Grinnell. Margaret worked as a homemaker. They were members of the Chester Congregational Church of rural Poweshiek County and the Sonora Grange. He was also a member of the Rock Creek Grange Camp Association Board and was awarded the "Outstanding Community Citizen" by the Iowa State Grange in 1979.
