Penelope's second husband, Joseph Brown, was my great-grandfather (via his third marriage). He is buried at Columbia Cemetery in Marion County, Iowa. The difficult-to-decipher inscription here reads, "Our Mother, Penelope, died July 5, 1870, age 53 years, 1 month, 19 days."
