Came to Washington County, Iowa in 1857. His first wife Rachel Freeland died in 1850 in W.Va. She is buried near the military base in Preston Co. A photo of her grave was sent to me by a soldier at that base. His second wife Catherine Francisco came to Iowa with him and his children. Her grave has not been found but may be in Johnson County where her family settled. Her father was a minister.
