[Email]The woman who took these photos of headstones told me they were from the Van Horn Cemetery at Lowden; however, at least one of the inscriptions on a 4 sided headstone, is for a child that Bonnie Pillars told me was buried at English Cemetery in Wheatland, so I don't know what to think. Maybe someone who lives around there can identify which cemetery this is.
The photographer was B. Wooten. They were taken in 1993.
The first photo is a 4 sided stone with the following inscriptions:
Rachel A wife of R. R. George Died July 12 1875 aged (unreadable, but probably says 27 years 6 months). ( This is Rachel A. Hoskins, daughter of Henry L. Hoskins and Rhoda Parr and wife of Ruel Reed George)
One side has two inscriptions:
Narry Died Dec 3 1875 aged 5 mos
Infant Died March 14 1872 R. R. and R. George
(These are two children of Ruel Reed George and Rachel A. Hoskins)
The third side has this inscription:
Willie E son of R. R. and R. George died April 22, 1881 aged 3 years, 3 months, 3 days.
(This was a child of Ruel Reed George and his second wife, Rosanna Hoffee.)
Apparently there is no inscription on the fourth side.
Also in the background are two stones that are readable. The grey one in the far back says DOERMANN; the reddish one says TOMME with the following inscription above: George Tomme 1845-1914 (I think)
Louise CES WIECNE (I think)
Seine Frau 1851-1931 (I think)
Perhaps someone who knows German could give a better translation, but I would suppose it indicates that Louis was George's wife.
