Oakland Cemetery
Clinton County, Iowa

The Clinton Herald May 17, 1904 p. 6 As a last tribute to the memory of Mrs. Toni Ingwersen Schoenjahn, the friends in all of Clinton assembled at the home of her parents yesterday afternoon and after the --- and impressive Episcopal funeral service, which was conducted by the Rev. T.W. Jones, followed all that was mortal to the grave in beautiful Oakland. The floral offerings were of exquisite beauty and profusion, literally covering the casket, and filling the carriages of the mourners. The music for the afternoon was rendered by a quartet consisting of Mrs. Fisher, Miss Lundy, J.M. Waters and Harry Sievers, and was most beautiful and appropriate. The loving memory in which the departed young woman is held by all who knew her was shown by the large number of friends at the funeral and the funeral procession which consisted of more than a hundred carriages in line. Mrs. Schoenjahn was one of Lyons' brightest and winsomest daughters. It is but a few short years since she came her with her husband to make her home in the western part of the state, then came the news of the arrival of the baby daughter and then the sorrowing messages of -- health and gradual decline. The homes of the parents and relatives are heavy with sorrow, and to the young husband is extended sincere sympathy.

The Clinton Herald Monday May 16, 1904 p. 6 Mrs. Carl Schoenjahn, formerly Miss Toni Ingwersen of this city, was buried this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N.E. Ingwersen. The interment took place at the Oakland cemetery. She was born June 8, 1877, near Bryant, was graduated at the Lyons public schools, and married Carl Schoenjahn, Feb. 2, 1902. She leaves a husband, little daughter, four sisters and two brothers.
