F.D. Slauson was a Corporal, 21st IA Infy, Co.K, & saw action during assault & Siege of Vicksburg, MS, and the sieges of Ft. Blakely & Mobile, AL. His brother, James, served as fifer in Co.K until June, 1863. Alice (Cummings) Slauson was a school teacher. F.D. & Alice farmed E. of Sand Springs, raising several children. The parents of F.D. & Alice also buried at Sand Springs Cemetery.
