Myrtha V. QUICK PETERSON Aug. 29, 1905 - Sep. 13, 1995
Fairfield - Clarence L. PETERSON, 70, of 500 N. Main, died at 10:30 p.m., Wednesday. He had been in failing health for several years.
He was born Oct. 1, 1902, at Lockridge, to Gust and Christine LARSON PETERSON. He married Myrtha QUICK March 16, 1927, at Lockridge. He retired from Philco Co. two years ago and had been employed part-time at Martha Brown. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his widow; one son, Darrell of Fairfield; three brothers, Marshall of Madison, Wisconsin; Walter of Burlington and Raymond of Fairfield, and two sisters, Mrs. Harry PYLE of Burlington, and Mrs. Mabel MURPHY of Lockridge. The service will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Raymond Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dean Berg. A private graveside service will be at the New Sweden Lutheran Cemetery.
A memorial has been established payable to the organ fund at First Lutheran Church.
Myrtha V. PETERSON, 90, of Parkview Care Center, died there Wednesday morning, Sept. 13, 1995.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev, Dr. Peter G. Drever Jr. officiating. Burial will be in New Sweden Lutheran Cemetery near Lockridge. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home. Memorials have been established to the First Lutheran Church Handicapped Fund and New Sweden Lutheran Cemetery Fund.
Mrs. PETERSON was born Aug 29, 1905 in Lockridge, the daughter of Andrew Emil and Anna Louise SAMUELSON QUICK. A resident of Jefferson County most of her life, she graduated from Fairfield High School and lived in Fairfield for many years. On March 16, 1927, she married Clarence L. PETERSON at Lockridge. He died July 12, 1972.
She was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church and a member of the Quilters and Dorcas groups at the church. She was hostess and caterer at the Fairfield Women's Club for several years and was known for the decorated cakes and other baked goods she made for many occasions for area residents.
Surviving are a son, Darrell of Fairfield; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanette SMITHBURG of Fairfield. A grandson, a brother, Karl QUICK, and two sisters, Marie QUICK and Florence BOYD, proceeded her in death.
