Note: Hans, Mary and their family were part of the Mormon Immigration from Denmark. They sailed from Copenhagen to Great Britain 18 Apr 1857 on the Steamship, "L. N. Hvidt." From there they sailed on the ship "Westmoreland"to Philadelphia. Their family was part of the Mormon 7th Handcart Company from Iowa City to Salt Lake City, although they ended up returning to Iowa and settled in the Council Bluffs area. They joined the Reorganized Latter Day Saint movement and remained strong in their faith and immigrant dreams for the remainder of their days.
