Paulina Christensen, daughter of Christina and Chris Christensen was born in Monroe township, Shelby County, Iowa on July 28, 1885 and died at the Myrtue Memorial hospital in Harlan on December 4, 1955 at the age of 70 years, four months and six days.
She grew up in the Corley vicinity and in April of 1909 she was married to Clarence Doonan and the couple established their home in the Corley vicinity. They farmed for many years until Mr Doonan's death in March 8, 1952.
Mrs Doonan made her home with daughters after her husbands death and for the past months was a resident of the Invalids home at Elk Horn.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Ruth (Ray) Larsen of Kirkman and Mrs Mildred Schnack of Portsmouth, four grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs Lyle Martin of Harlan and Mrs Hannah Lorentzen of Hartington, Nebraska, five brothers, Pete Christensen of Harlan, Holm Christensen of Russell, Andrew Christensen of Hartington, Nebraska, Marinus Christensen of Santa Monica, California and Otto Christensen of Walnut.
Besides her parents and husband, a brother, Chris and a sister, Anna, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held from the Immanuel Lutheran church, Wednesday on December 7, with the Rev. Lyle Paulsen in charge. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery.
