Ruth Angeline Jacobsen, daughter of Caius and Sylvia Stacy, was born in Winterset, Iowa on June 24, 1895 and died at her home in Harlan on February 18, 1956 at the age of 60 years, 7 months and 24 days.
She was united in marriage to Francis Jacobsen of Council Bluffs on May 28, 1925 in Avoca, Iowa. To this union two children were born; Donald of Harlan and Ruth Ann (Mrs Jack McKininstry) of Des Moines.
Her early married life was spent in Council Bluffs where she lived until 1939, moving at this time to Neola, until 1940 then Harlan.
Mrs Jacobsen was a member of the First Methodist Church of Harlan, and the Rebekah Lodge in which she held numerous offices.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Leston. Survivors include her husband and two children; one brother, Wyland Adams of Pawnee, Oklahoma; three sisters; Mrs Cecil (Henry) COle of Imperial, California, Mrs Helen (Art) Johnson of North Hollywood, California and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Pauley's funeral home Monday, February 20, with the Rev. Lawrence Beals in charge. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery.
