Hermanus H. Johnston, son of Andrew Scott Johnston and Emily McClure, was born Oct. 30, 1835 in Hillsboro, Highland Co., Ohio and died Jan. 28, 1926 in Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Martha Ann Cowman Nov. 14, 1858 in Marion Co., Iowa.
