They lived on the Fønnebø farm east of Uvdal, Norway. In 1853 they emigrated to America with their four children (Ole, 13; Gjertrud, 9; Lars, 5; and Birgit, 1.5). This is according to parish records. Lars later married Maline per county records. Inscription Translation: Here below rests the mortal remains of Lars Olsen Funnbo (Fonneboe) Born in Opdals Annex Numedals, Norway March 21, 1806 Died in Iowa August 14, 1881 Note: Maline's grave is next to his; the photo is indexed as Maline Olson (rather than Olsen.
