Lambert, was born May 6, 1840 in Parke Co., Indiana and died Jan. 23, 1918 in Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa. He enlisted as a Private in Co. A, 7th Iowa Cavalry Regiment Oct. 23, 1862, was promoted to Full 4th Corporal May 12, 1865 and mustered out Nov. 24, 1865 at Fort Kearney, Nebraska.
