He married 1) Margaret Murphy and 2) Caroline Josephine Finnekohl. She was born Jun 15, 1848 in Germany, daughter of Henry and Marie Finnekohl, and died Mar. 13, 1926 in Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa.
