Dessie Phillips, daughter of Emmer Phillips and Nancy Almira Shepherd, was born July 6, 1889 near Clearfield, Taylor Co., Iowa and died Dec. 7, 1963 near Siam, Taylor Co., Iowa. She married Loyd Sylvester Smith April 13, 1919 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. He was born Feb. 8, 1884 near Primghar, O'Brien Co, Iowa, son of Ira Smith and Euretta Morton, and died Dec. 23, 1967 near Siam, Taylor Co., Iowa.
