Charles Curtis Evans Owens, adopted son of Blake Gilmore and Charity Catherine Owens, was born June 1, 1921 in DeQueen, Sevier Co., Arkansas and died Oct. 11, 1997 in St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., Missouri. He married Helen Eliza Cross Mar. 10, 1942. She was born April 29, 1919 near Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa, daughter of Thomas John Cross and Mable Horton, and died April 17, 2008 in Villisca, Montgomery Co., Iowa.
