DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Mrs. Amanda H. Lansing, 90, of Dyersville, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 1996, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 7 p.m.
She was born on Oct. 28, 1905, in Luxemburg, daughter of Nick and Rosa (Mock) Gaul. She married Lawrence Lansing on Sept. 1, 1926, in Luxemburg. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband before retiring.
She was a host maker for St. Francis Xavier Basilica for 25 years, and a volunteer at Oak Crest Manor. She was a member of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are six sons, Joseph A. (Ruth) Lansing and Arthur (Bernice) Lansing, both of Dyersville, Jerome (Mary Margaret) Lansing and William H. (Joan) Lansing, both of Worthington, the Rev. Augustine Dreiling, OSB, of Conception Junction, Mo., and John (Rita) Lansing, of Farley; two daughters, Catherine (Hugo) Engelken, of New Vienna, and Verna Rose (LeRoy) Bries, of Garnavillo; a son-in-law, Leon (Betty) Mullis, of Delaware; 51 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Agnes Pasker, of Dyersville, and Calista (Leander) Boge, of Manchester; two brothers, Alphonse Gaul, of Luxemburg, and Cletus (Dorothy) Gaul, of Farley; and three sisters-in-law, Stella Gaul and Viola Gaul, both of Luxemburg, and Anna Gaul, of Dyersville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; a daughter, Wilma Mullis; three sisters, Monica Engelken, Rita Trenkamp and Sister Crescentia, FSPA; and six brothers, Nick, George, Joe, Bill, Lavern and Francis Gaul.
