John Allen was born Dec. 11, 1836 near Edinburgh, Scotland and died Dec. 13, 1915 in Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Malvina Stewart Oct. 23, 1860 at Abingdon, Knox Co., Illinois.
