George Riley Anderson, son of Elijah Thatcher Anderson and Rosa Ann Bray was born June 10, 1845 near Pleasant Grove, Jefferson Co., Iowa and died April 2, 1913 at Blockton, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Cynthia Ann Williams Aug. 6, 1863 at Grant City, Worth Co., Missouri.
He enlisted in Co. M, 6th Kansas Cavalry Regiment, July 23, 1863 and was mustered out July 18, 1865 at DeVall's Bluff, Arkansas. Source: Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Kansas.
