William Jarvis Smith, son of James Smith and Matilda Palmer, was born Mar. 7, 1852 in Andrew, Jackson Co., Iowa and died Jan 7, 1937 in Sharpsburg, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Mary Frances Rutledge Oct. 1876. She was born Sept. 24, 1858 near Sommerset, Perry Co., Ohio, daughter of William Edward Rutledge and Louisa Ann Biggs, and died Aug. 12, 1945 in McCook, Red Willow Co., Nebraska.
