Mary was the daughter of of William P and Nancy (Hulse) Berry. She married Simpson Marion Battershell on 28 MAR 1865 in Powell Co, Kentucky. They were the parents of William, James, Edgar, Anna, Ambrose, Enis, Samuel, Charles, Bertha, Sylvia, Fred and Bascom.
