Richard Lockwood Hardenbrook, son of Francis Hardenbrook and Nancy Kelly, was born Sept. 27, 1842 at Mt. Gilead, Morrow Co., Ohio and died Nov. 6, 1913 in Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Cornelia Wilbur Mar. 14, 1867 at Galesburg, Knox Co., Illinois. He enlisted in Co. F, 83rd Illinois Infantry Regiment Aug. 21, 1862 and was out mustered out June 26, 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee. Source: Illinois: Roster of Officers and Enlisted Men
