In the background Jacob Cole's military stone is the stone on the right leaning against the family stone. Pearl was an infant daughter who died Sept. 11, 1876 aged 5 months.
Jacob Cole was born April 13, 1845 at Bridgeton, Parke Co., Indiana, son of James Cole and Mary Snow, and died Jan. 15, 1920 in San Diego, San Diego Co., California. He married 1) Nancy Minor Nov. 1, 1868 at Fairfield, Jefferson Co., Iowa and 2) Lillian May Putnam Dec. 25, 1912. Nancy Minor was born June 7, 1848 in Warren Co., Ohio, daughter of John Minor and Martha Addis, and died Sept. 14, 1908 in Denver, Colorado.
