John M. Neff was born Mar. 22, 1844 in Ashland Co., Ohio and died Mar. 16, 1926 in Maloy, Ringgold Co., Iowa. At the age of 18 he enlisted in Co. G, 23rd Ohio Volunteers and served until the close of the Civil War. See separate entry under his name for a photo of the family stone.
