Lemuel Alexander Longfellow, son of Joseph Purcell Longfellow and Mary Josephine Elder, was born July 19, 1878 in Muscatine, Muscatine Co., Iowa and died Sept. 6, 1967 in Clarinda, Page Co., Iowa. He married Fonta Lee Smith Mar. 5, 1903 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. She was born Sept. 27, 1883 near Albany, Gentry Co., Missouri, daughter of Oscar Eldridge Smith and Minnie Williams, and died June 26, 1981 in Corning, Adams Co., Iowa.
