Alice Elma Butts, daughter of James Walker Butts and Sarah Isabell Payton, was born Jan. 31, 1883 in Ross Twp., southwest of Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa and died April 12, 1956 in Maryville, Nodaway Co., Missouri. She married Frank Charles Thummel Mar. 13, 1913 in Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. See separate entry under Frank Charles Thummel for a photo of the family plot.
