Edward was the son of Patrick Joyce and Catherine Cusack. He married Mary Kelly on Oct 12, 1871 in Harpers Ferry, IA. They were the parents of 10 children: John, James, Catherine, Thomas, Edward, Mary, Margaret, Julia, Clara, and Joseph.
