James Alexander Russell, son of Robert Russell and Mary Paine, was born Nov. 21, 1860 and died Dec. 23, 1902 in Ross Twp., south of Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Almina "Minnie" Ackerman Dec. 23, 1885 at Villisca, Montgomery Co., Iowa. (Iowa, County Marriages, 1838-1934 gives the marriage place as Red Oak, Montgomery Co., Iowa.)
