William immigrated in 1873. He married Margaret Broich October 31, 1879 in Roselle township, Carroll County, Iowa. They were the parents of 9 children: Mary (Mayme), Clara, Wilhelmina, Joseph, Ann, and others. William was the night flagman with the Northwestern Railroad in Carroll, IA.
