Marcella was the daughter of Christopher and Cintha Harris. She married Edward Schreiber on Feb 24, 1868 in Ridott, Illinois. They were the parents of 10 children: Laura, Mary, Jane, Effie, Dora, Fred, Dollie, Maude, Ruby, and a son who died in infancy.
