Daniel Francis Lenihan was born in Chicago, Illinois. Fr. Daniel was a Second World War veteran serving in General Bradley's army in Normandy, the liberation of Paris, Rhineland and Central Europe. He worked in counter-intelligence and received the silver battle star among other honors.
