Bryce is the son of John C. Quint and Abigail Bickford. Bryce married Mary D. Dunham on 19 AUG 1861 in St. Joseph,​ Berrien, Michigan. They were the parents of Alfonzo, Lilly M, and Violet U. Bryce married 2nd Lydia Pennell Boyce on 6 Apr. 1873 in Berrien county, Michigan. The family moved to Carroll, Iowa in 1876.
