Thaddeus was the son of Cyrus E. Crooke and Carnelia Tatum. He married Coda Pagdham on 22 Dec 1880 Jefferson, Greene, Iowa. They were the parents of Walter, Effie, and Harry. He married 2nd Effie Johnson on 11 Nov 1908 in Tama, Iowa.
