Ebenezer Nathan Messenger was born in Windham, Portage Co., Ohio the son of Nathan Henry Messenger and Sally Wilson. He married Marietta Holcomb on May 19, 1846 there and they moved to Marshall Co., Iowa in about 1855. They had two children: Elmira E. and Wallace W. Ebenezer died in Green Mountain, Marshall Co., Iowa.
