Kirk Kendrick Parmenter, son of Allen Seba Parmenter and Elizabeth Whitney McCune, was born Sept. 28, 1839 in Edgington, Rock Island Co., Illinois, and died Nov. 20, 1907 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Nancy Jane Sedam Mar. 4, 1861 in Rock Island Co., Illinois. He enlisted as a Private June 18,1864 in Co. G, 140th Illinois Infantry and was mustered out Oct. 29, 1864 at Camp Fry, Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois. Obituary available Taylor County, Iowa gen web site.
