Oral Vernon Melvin, son of John Alan Melvin and Sarah Zerelda Lindley, was born Feb. 18, 1881 in Benton Twp., Taylor Co., Iowa and died there June 27, 1881. He was buried June 28, 1881. He shares the stone with his sister Jessie.
